Being Human Management Training
Managing is hard work. It can push all kinds of buttons that distract us from being present with one another. That’s because we’re human. Whether CEO, seasoned manager, or brand new to a role, the key to successful management is learning how to keep human relationship at the center of all work. The good news is that managing well is a skill that can be taught – to all levels. That’s what the Being Human Management Training is for – to grow you and your management style.
You can access our flagship training experience in three distinct ways:
- In-person small groups in Asheville, North Carolina;
- Live virtual cohorts; and
- At your business.
Our (Human) Approach
Depending on modality, you may attend this training independently (outside of your work environment) or with colleagues. No matter the setting, you will build practical skills that transform your management style and shift your fundamental perspective on what it means to manage others. Regardless of participant roster, you will practice being fully human in the workplace. This means leading with curiosity, vulnerability, humility, and a wild willingness to fail, practice, and learn.
Being Present
Presence is the foundation of working into right relationship. What does it take to show up for your team? We’ll practice this together.
Listening Fully and Communicating Directly
These interrelated skills show up everywhere, which is why they weave throughout the training course. Our training will help you build skills while giving and receiving feedback in your cohort.
Practicing and Skill Building
Learning comes first. Over time, practice transforms information into valuable skills. For the first six weeks of the live training, you will practice with a small, rotating group from the cohort. An Into Right Relationship practitioner will guide these weekly practice sessions to focus and extend your learning with a variety of techniques your team will notice and appreciate.
12 weeks (32 hours)
There are no shortcuts to transformation. To support the best outcomes, our intensive, interactive training requires a substantial time commitment. We ask a lot – of ourselves and all participants who routinely share that every minute was worth the investment.
- 16 hours of live group training (in-person or virtual) over eight weeks
- 6 hours of small group practice with an Into Right Relationship practitioner
- 10 hours reflection (pre-work and during training)
Weeks 1–4
In addition to individual reflections, each participant’s work team completes a survey about their management style. Personal reflections and employee feedback help participants understand strengths and weaknesses of their current management practices.
Weeks 5–12
In weekly two-hour training sessions, participants engage in the Being Human Management Training curriculum with IRR Founder, Lead Coach, and Trainer Sarah Brown. 60-minute group practice sessions with an IRR practitioner and 30-minute self-paced reflection activities extend learning between sessions.
